In war zones, no one is using talking points. I had to made life-and-death decisions for our troops and the Allied troops in the region...

Not hypothetical’s.

Mission & Values

Long before becoming a decorated veteran and honored trial lawyer, Joyce wore the badges of insight and persistence. Since the days she worked her way through North Carolina Central University and John Marshall Law School, she’s had a keen understanding of what successfully taking on seemingly insurmountable challenges requires. That’s why she’s consistently approached life’s hurdles with steady vision, measured steps, and distinctive endurance. With this strategy, she won the Democratic Primary for the 1st Congressional seat in 2000, and mounted and rebounded from a vigorously contested general election bid. The uncompromising voice and servant’s heart she displayed then remain central to her drive in 2020. Seasoned by listening to and working to supply the needs of others in communities at home and abroad, Joyce is well prepared to champion the struggles of everyday Georgians. Drawing on a wealth of experiences, from her own rural roots to her engagements in the global arena, she’s equipped to articulate district constituents’ needs at the highest levels.

Putting her strengths in action for the 1st District, Joyce will . . .

Value the integrity a Congressional office deserves

Operate with the transparency constituents need

Initiate measures to address the concerns in our area

Celebrate the strengths that distinguish our communities

Elevate interests that empower our people

With Joyce as your voice in Washington, you will be heard.
